Today was the final day of the ASCAP "I Create Music" Expo. The planets aligned and the fates smiled and a good friend of mine from college decided to get married in Los Angeles the same week of the expo. So I flew out a few days early and got to go to some amazing panels and meet some wonderful people! I'm now much more inspired to get music up on this site as soon as possible. But there are only so many hours in a day and I wanted to start writing about the expo experience. There was so much to each panel, I'm going to split it up into two separate articles. So here are some of the highlights from the first 1.5 days of the expo:

Originally an assignment for Berklee’s “Advanced Production for Writers” class, this original piece combines the intimacy of a live string quintet recording with the fullness of sequenced midi samples. More specifically, three live takes with 3 violins, 1 viola and a cello are layered along with Vienna Ensemble Special Edition samples of violin, viola, cello, and bass ensembles.

My Spring 2012 recital is coming up on March 15th at 7:00pm. Come to Berk Recital Hall at 1140 Boylston for some original pop-country-folk tunes with a sprinkle of nerdy pop-culture references and a dash of cover tunes.
*Update* Unfortunately, due to the blackout that disabled large swaths of downtown Boston and had many wandering the city in search of places with electricity to charge their laptops, this show was cancelled. I’ll be putting up the videos of my previous recital as soon as possible!
